Uv Maps

For each character it was important to create a uv map that would enable me to have custom textures.

To fit with the style of the film each character would have a painted texture applied to them.

But to get the bits of detail to be right, i had to lay out the uvs properly.

Having not really done too much of this im sure i probably didnt do it in the best way.

None the less i was able to unwrap the uvs and lay them out in a way which meant we could take them to photoshop then paint in the correct places in order to create the desired affect.

Because i was only having a simple texture on the bird i only needed to  project the uvs through the x axis, with all the other models i had to unwrap and lay the uvs flat. However as i was only painting on a patch on the front this saved me valuable time.

The texture came out well, however had i been adding more detail or more colour to the bird this method would have caused me to struggle.
Although a simple shape, the cooking pot took some work to get the uvs right. because i wanted to be able to paint on a scorched look, i had to cut and sow the uvs so that they would all line up correctly. I ended up with this. Having the uvs layed out properly like this meant that i could achive what i wanted though.
